Yesterday in the morning, I went out to run six miles. Early, with all previously prepared the day after: clothes, running shoes, motivating music, etc.
I woke up sleepy… Tired yet of the week… But I went out…
I wasn’t runned 1.5 miles when excuses began to invade me… The sun started to come out and the Miami unrelenting heat increasingly stroger…
I always go running with some cash in case I’m not able to return (it is always the excuse that wants to make me weak)
I kept running with the sole motivation of wanting to do it. It didn’t matter the time, just achieve it.
I finally got half, where I have to go back. I was really tired but I didn’t stopped. I turned up the volume of the music to not hear my complaints and excuses.
The heat was becoming more, and I had almost no hydration, but my house was getting closer… My starting point… I turned the music louder, tired I keept looking for my favorite songs… I was getting closer and closer to my house… Until… FINALLY!! I DID IT!!
My six miles… My little big goal, I achieved it… With the satisfaction and tired as if I had run a marathon. But I made it!
I’m just telling you this story not because I think I can and you don’t… Not trying to tell you that this is only for some people, I’m not an athlete, I don’t dedicate 100% of my time to this. I haven’t won anything (yet ;)), but I do something that maybe you don’t… And it is just having the perseverance in the gold that I want to achieve… Run! Just that!
I really hope that this story helps you in some way, because I’m completely sure that if I can… YOU CAN! #ofcourseyoucan (at Brickell Run)
